Confidentiality

Clients’ identity will be protected and notes are kept secure and in compliance with the Data Protection Act.  Our counsellors are supervised, in accordance with Professional standards, and client material will be discussed only within the boundaries of that confidential supervisory relationship.  Only if there is serious immediate risk to the client or others would we consider breaking confidentiality in order to inform the necessary agencies. In the unlikely event of this happening, we will discuss this with you before any action is taken. 

Timing of counselling sessions

Sessions last for 50 minutes and will, if possible, be at the same time every week. Holidays will be discussed and agreed in advance.  For longer term clients, we will undertake a review of progress regularly, to ensure that your issues are being addressed and that new issues are acknowledged if they emerge through the counselling process.

Behaviour

We reserve the right to terminate the session with any client who attends for counselling under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or behaves threateningly towards our counsellors.

Ending Counselling

Endings are important for the counselling relationship and we therefore like to ensure that a full session is devoted to the end of our work together.

Counselling Fees

Our fee is £35 for a 50 minute counselling session.  Special rates may negotiable for those on low income or benefits.
