Matthew Bartolo
My approach is very simple. I believe that therapy is about the client and counsellor working together to help the client achieve his or her goal. Having worked with a lot of different organisations, I am learning a lot about life's challenges and how different people cope. I have worked with asylum seekers, addicts, prisoners, couples, children, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual people, and children in care, amongst others. These people have all taught me a lot about life, and, what a difference counselling and a positive attitude can make.
Sometimes we go through a period where we need to talk to someone and our friends and family are not enough. We need to talk to someone who is skilled in listening and supporting you to make that decision, or help you go through a rough period in your life. My background is in psychology and counselling, and I am currently reading an MSc in Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapy. I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and British Psychological Society. I specialise in working with couples, addiction and people who are having issues around their sexuality.
Feedback from my clients
“The therapy has helped me focus my thoughts as before the sessions I was worried about too much. I am now able to stop my anxiety becoming too intense”
“The counsellor was very friendly and respectful and gave me a good understanding of where I was going wrong with my issues”
