Judith Caul
I am an experienced counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Before training to be a counsellor, I worked for several national newspapers in London. I also volunteered in a homeless drop-in centre and as a mentor in schools. I have worked with trauma, anger issues and work related stress as a counsellor for South Yorkshire Police. More recently I have provided counselling services to the NHS, alongside my private practice, and have worked with a wide variety of client issues.
I use an integration of Person-centred therapy with interventions from a variety of approaches, depending on an individual’s needs. I like to work collaboratively with clients on establishing goals so that they feel fully involved in the process. I also promote self-help whenever possible so individuals can find their own coping strategies.
Often, people coming for counselling do not readily like themselves. I believe that counselling can play an important part in building self-acceptance. I aim to provide a safe, open and trusting relationship where individuals can gain personal insight and develop greater resilience to deal with life.
Feedback from my clients
“Counselling helped me to feel like a brave and successful person who is entitled to happiness. I now have to ability to find and seek out job in life and to recognize that problems, bad thoughts and feelings do lay ahead, but that I am well equipped to deal with them"
“I cannot say enough good things about Judith, and the help that I received. I was able to go at my own pace and make my own realizations. Thank you very much”
